Cristiano Ronaldo to wear gold-plated boots in the Copa del Rey final to celebrate a record breaking season

Nike has released its Cristiano Ronaldo 2014 Special Edition Boot which Ronaldo will wear during the Copa Del Rey final against FC Barcelona on April 16,2014.

The Portuguese superstar has enjoyed a marvellous campaign wherein he averages more than a goal a game, became the fastest to reach 200 goals for Real Madrid and won the 2013 Ballon D’Or.

In a gesture of respect and to pay tribute to the Madrid winger’s achievements, Nike gave out 100 pairs of limited edition boots priced at 310 USD (235 Euros), available only at Nike.com, which got sold out as expected.

The new Nike Mercurial Vapor IX boot comes in a colour combination of black and white, with Gold plated soles. With a specific number from 001 to 100 on the area near the heel, each boot is laser etched with the softer outsole covered in gold. Ronaldo’s signature is drafted with gold lettering on the black inner sole of the boot .
