What's the story?

Vinícius Jr was at the Bernabéu yesterday as he experienced Real Madrid slump to a 3-0 defeat in the El Clásico. However, the result didn't seem to damage the spirits of the 17-year-old, who was on his first trip to the Bernabéu, to witness the team he would soon play for.

Following the match, the Brazilian went into the dressing room to catch up with his future teammates. Vinícius is already well-acquainted with compatriots Marcelo and Casemiro. He also got the chance to meet Cristiano Ronaldo and the youngster was keen on a photograph together. "Best Of The World!", Vinícius later posted on his Twitter account as he prepared to leave the Spanish capital.

In case you didn't know...

Real Madrid signed Vinícius Jr. from Flamengo last summer for €45 million, making him the 7th most expensive player in the club's history. The Brazilian, however, is yet to join the club as he is currently below the permitted legal age for international transfers.

Until then, he will continue to play for his current club Flamengo, at least till July 2018, following which, both the clubs will sit down to discuss the future course of the player. In his seven-month professional career, Vinícius has made 37 appearances and scored four goals.

The heart of the matter

Following the conclusion of the Brazilian Série A season, Vinícius was on a four-day trip to Madrid along with his agent Lucas Mineiro, his father, his uncle and his younger brother Netinho. He got to experience the atmosphere at Real Madrid for the first time; visiting the club museum and touring the club premises, before witnessing Los Blancos take on Barcelona.

What's next?

According to Marca, the youngster is now expected to fly to the United States in order to spend a few days at Disneyland with his family, before returning home. However, he arrived in Spain a day late and his plans now may be cut short as he looks forward to resting adequately before the start of the 2018 Série A season.

Vinícius is expected to return to training with Flamengo on January 13th before they kick-off their league campaign against Volta Redonda on January 17th.

Author's take

Witnessing your team lose to your bitter-rivals and that too on your first-ever visit, is not an easy site to behold for a 17-year-old. However, meeting Ronaldo would have surely boosted his morale as he prepares for life on one of Europe's biggest stages.
