What's the story?
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has millions of fans across the globe and the Portuguese talisman came face-to-face with one during his side's game against Sassuolo on Sunday night.
In case you didn't know...
Juventus locked horns with Sassuolo in the Serie A last night, in a game that saw the Bianconeri extend their lead at the top of the league table to eleven points after registering a 3-0 win over their opponents.
Sami Khedira opened the scoring for the visitors early in the first half following which Ronaldo managed to score the second goal and register an assist for the third goal that was netted by Emre Can late in the second half.
Ronaldo's goal marked his 18th in the Serie A so far this season and the assist was his seventh this campaign, making him the second-highest assist provider in the league so far.
The heart of the matter
The Daily Mail UK reported that during the second half of the game, an unexpected pitch invader was seen running clear of the stewards towards his idol on the field. Upon reaching the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, he enacted Ronaldo's trademark celebration right in front of the former Real Madrid star.
The fan was topless and had only a bandana around his neck and a jumper tied around his waist.
In a class gesture, Ronaldo reacted by embracing the fan and calmly patting his face as his teammates and opponents looked on. The fan was eventually taken away by the security staff of the MAPEI Stadium.
What's next?
Juventus are scheduled to play Frosinone in the Serie A this Saturday before locking horns with Atletico Madrid in a much-awaited Champions League clash on February 21.
