What's the story?

According to a list released by FourFourTwo, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best striker in the world right now.

The Portuguese star is followed by Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann in the top 5 while Barcelona's Luis Suarez holds the 7th spot in the rankings.

In case you didn’t know….

Ronaldo shocked the world when he decided to leave Real Madrid after winning three consecutive Champions League with Los Blancos. The Portuguese talisman remains the greatest goalscorer of Real Madrid with 450 goals in 438 games.

Since moving to Turin last summer in a transfer worth €100 million, Ronaldo has taken Serie A by storm. The 34-year-old sharpshooter settled with Old Lady quickly and is among the top scorers and top assisters in the Serie A with 19 goals and 8 assists. In all competitions, Ronaldo has racked up a staggering 24 goals.

Although Ronaldo has scored fewer goals than arch-rival Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the campaign so far, the fact that he is still going strong in a much defensive league and in a defensive team speaks volume of his consistency.

The heart of the matter

In a list released by FourFourTwo via AS, Ronaldo is the best striker in the world with a market value of €100 million. His 19 goals in 26 games in the Italian league keeps him ahead of Kane (17 goals), Aguero (18 goals), Mbappe (26 goals) and Griezmann (18 goals).

Ronaldo's market value is also lesser than the likes of Kane and Mbappe, who are much younger and better prospects.

Ronaldo has been a consistent performer for Juventus in the league this season and he recently took the Bianconeri into the quarterfinals singlehandedly by netting a hat-trick against Atletico in the second leg.

What’s next?

The Portuguese is set to miss Juventus' next three games in Serie A as he is out for two weeks due to a muscular injury during Portugal's clash with Serbia.

But he is expected to feature against Ajax in the all-important UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
