What's the story?
Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, has poked fun at former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, as part of a funny segment on a German television programme called 'Late Night Berlin'.
In case you didn't know
Ronaldo spent nine successful years at Real Madrid during which he won two LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies, apart from several other cups and competitions.
The 34-year-old left the Santiago Bernabeu last summer and joined Serie A giants Juventus, for whom he has scored 21 league goals so far this season.
While Ronaldo has helped the Old Lady to their eighth successive league title, he failed to inspire the team beyond the Champions League quarter-final stage.
The Portuguese talisman remains one of the most influential people in the world and boasts of being the sportsperson with the highest social media following.
The heart of the matter
Kroos, who was among the guests on 'Late Night Berlin', was asked to leave funny comments from his official Instagram account on a number of celebrities' posts as part of a regular feature on the show.
Ronaldo's profile then caught the attention of the World Cup winner, and he picked a photo on which he would comment. The photo features the five-time Ballon d'Or winner sitting on a rock in only a pair of shorts. Under the post, Kroos hilariously commented,
"I wish I was the rock".
Thomas Muller, who is Kroos' teammate in the German national team, was also targeted on the show. Under one of his posts, the Real Madrid star commented,
"I miss you here at Real. Nobody smells like Leberkas [Bavarian food] like you do."
What's next?
Real Madrid, who will finish the season empty-handed, are scheduled to face Real Sociedad on Sunday. Meanwhile, Juventus are set to face Roma in the Serie A this weekend.
