Cristiano Ronaldo has asserted that he wants to stay with Real Madrid till the end of his contract, but admitted that he did not know what the future had for him beyond that.
The Portugal international’s contract with the club expires in 2015, but he has been associated with a move away from Real Madrid.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had recently revealed that he’d love to have Ronaldo back at Old Trafford.
However, the former Manchester United forward is adamant he is not leaving the Spanish champions before his present deal runs out in 2015.
Speaking to fifa.com in an interview that was carried out last week during the Ballon d’Or awards and published on the official website today, Ronaldo said: “I want to see out my contract at Real Madrid: I’m very clear about that. After that, well, I don’t know what’ll happen in the future.”
Ronaldo will be playing against his former team for the first time since he moved, when Madrid face United in the last-16 of the Champions League in February.
“Every Madridista wants that 10th European Cup – we’re more than aware of that,” Ronaldo said.
“It’s not going to be easy and I reckon the odds are about 50-50, but I’m still very confident.”
