According to Europsport, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was in talks regarding a new deal with Real Madrid has claimed that he is not worried of a contract renewal decision.
“I have several years ahead of me and the renewal is not something that worries me right now,” the 28-year-old said in an interview with AS.
“Things happen naturally and sooner or later we will find out. It’s not worrying. Things are going well. I’m happy and I don’t consider it the end of the world.”
The Portuguese International star was pretty disappointed with his team’s bad run last season with winning only one trophy. Ronaldo is also excited to work with the new manager Carlos Ancelotti when the new season kicks of this weekend.
“It’s obviously disappointing because we only won the Supercopa, but we are going to try and win La Liga and the Champions League [this season].
“It will be difficult but we have a good team and will try to make it happen. Ancelotti is a great Coach, a great man, and I’m very happy to be working with him.”
He is all set to become the Portugal’s highest goal scorer with one behind the legendary Eusebio and seven adrift of Pauleta, but believes that record are not the reason he plays for.
“I don’t think of beating the record. Things happen naturally, as I said, both with the national team and my club, although I think I’ll overcome Eusebio’s tally.
“I’ve got more years in front of me with Portugal but I’m not obsessed by it.”
