Cristiano Ronaldo has lost faith in Real Madrid’s medical team after they misdiagnosed his injury. The player has already missed the first leg of the Manchester CIty game as well as Real Madrid’s last two La Liga matches as we come to the end of the 2015/16 season.
The 31-year-old has suffered a torrid few weeks. His injury seems to be far worse than first imagined and he is desperate to get back to the football pitch. But after he suffered a relapse during training before the City game his participation in the second leg is in doubt.
Ronaldo has been vital to Real Madrid's season so far. It was his heroics in the quarterfinals that have helped his team reach the semis of the UEFA Champions League. The team showed how much they depended on him last week against Manchester City when they lacked that cutting edge to their attack.
According to SPORT, the forward had a scan at Manchester and was still not convinced. So he then visited a local hospital called Ruber when he returned to Madrid without telling his medical team.
The situation became so ridiculous when he reportedly snuck out of the the hospital in the trunk of his car! And now he is ready to take the help of the medical team at Barcelona to help with his recovery.
The star is aware that the Catalan medical staff are trustworthy and is ready to go to that length to play in the second leg of the Champions league against Manchester City. He approved the idea of consulting the Catalans from the very first moment it was suggested.
Ronaldo must be careful says doctor
We all know Ronaldo’s inhuman ability to recuperate which is also down to his will and desire to play every game. But maybe he should also think ahead about the fixtures he might miss. Nuno Campos who is the doctor of the national team has advised the player to take it easy.
Speaking to AS he said, “It would be less if it were a contracture and could play against City. If you have a microtear, you risk aggravating the injury and jeopardize their participation in the European Championship.”
But Campos did not rule out the Portuguese’s ability to recover quickly saying, "Cristiano overcomes many limitations that are not normal, but this is a physiological issue. It is difficult to be able to recover in 20 or 21 days. The treatment with stem cells may hasten the recovery days, but It's complicated.”
