In one of the most heart-touching stories recently, a 3-year-old terror attack survivor will see his biggest dream realised as he is scheduled to meet his hero, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The young boy, Haidar Moustafa, lost both his parents in a terrorist attack in Beirut on the 13th of November. Two suicide bombers blew themselves up in the Lebanese capital which instantly killed 40 people and over 200 were severely wounded.
In the aftermath of the horrific attack, the story of a young Moustafa began to trend on the social media.
A Lebanese citizen, Rana Harbi, an active Twitterati and whose Twitter bio reads ‘proud Lebanese, reporter, pro-resistance, allergic to both Islamists and Islamophobes’ decided to take up the cause of the beleaguered boy.
Looking at the plight of an innocent young boy who had just lost everything, Harbi posted a picture of the boy on Twitter and sought help from the social media in trying to realise his dream of meeting Ronaldo. The tweet went viral and reached thousands of people the very next day who were eager to help Haider after hearing his gut-wrenching story.
This finally caught the attention of the Portuguese ace and it was reported that his representatives have scheduled a meeting which would bring the two together.
Here is how it all unravelled on twitter.
It was a wonderful gesture from the Portugal national team captain. There have been a string of cases throughout his career where Ronaldo has given to the needy, helped the sick and kind-heartedly assisted those less fortunate in a time where footballers appear to be happy with their lot and out of touch with society.
