Weaker-foot ability
Cristiano Ronaldo beats the Argentine here. Another weakness in Messi’s game is his right-foot. He has scored some beautiful goals with his right—showing us that his right-foot is accurate—however, it lacks power to make much of a significance in a game.
The Portuguese, however, is a different beast altogether. Be it with his left, right or head, Cristiano generates some unbelievable power. His ambidexterity has outfoxed many defenders, who don't know which side to show him.
It takes repetition to improve your weak foot and being the training machine that Cristiano is, it is no wonder that his left foot is as good as some players' preferred foot. He has scored some blinders with his supposed weaker foot—stuff that even Messi would envy.
So, can Batman Ronaldo overcome Superman Messi? Saturday, we will know it all.
El Clasico Stats
The two superstars have played in numerous Clasico encounters and have been the stamping authority in their teams' wins. Ever since joining Real Madrid, the Portuguese has played in 24 Clasicos, scoring 15 goals—4 of which were from penalties—and assisting just once. He, however, has no hat-tricks to his name in this highly hyped encounter.
Lionel Messi’s stats tread in just about the same waters, except that his assist score is miles better. In the 31 games that he has featured in, he scored 21 goals—4 penalties to his name as well—and produced an astonishing 12 assists. He also has two hat-tricks to his name in the Clasico.
Finally, Messi has seen himself win a bulk of these clashes as he has 15 wins in the 31 games, compared to Ronaldo’s 6 wins in 24 appearances.
