Ronaldo’s mother thinks her son will end his career at Real Madrid. The superstar’s mother, Dolores Aveiro spoke at the release of her autobiography which was titled ‘A Mother’s courage’ which is written by Paulo Sousa.
There has been a lot of speculation over Ronaldo’s future at Madrid this season. Despite having scored 31 goals in La Liga this campaign critics have claimed he has not been at his best. All this has led to reports that he might leave come end of the season but his Mother has reassured Madrid fans he’s going nowhere saying, “His future? He's happy here, he wants to finish his career at Real Madrid.”
The media asked her about the book as well as the well-being of Ronaldo. The Portuguese was recently injured and missed Madrid’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City in the 1st leg of the Champions League.
There are doubts over his availability for the return leg as well but his mother doesn’t seem too worried. “He's fine, he's not at one hundred percent, but he's at about 80. I think he'll be back next week.”
She was quizzed about Ronaldo’s personality and the kind of character he is. “He's someone who always wants more.” replied Dolores, “and it's very hard to say no to him, he's strong-willed. He's always working, he always wants more, he's a chip off the old block!”
Dolores also spoke about the reason behind the release of the book saying, “It was a family decision, I didn't make it alone. It was difficult because the whole world knows Cristiano.“
Ronaldo was not happy initially about the release of the book but eventually understood. “He didn't like it that everyone was going to learn about his mother's suffering, but he understands that it's something that can help other women.” she said.
Dolores also explained why she wanted to tell her story saying, “I wanted to tell this story so that women will think twice before aborting. I thought about having an abortion because I had three kids to raise, it was a very difficult situation in the house.
She also denied that the book had anything to do with her son’s public image saying, “This book isn't about improving Cristiano's image. He's a bit proud, but he's a great friend to his friends. He does everything for his family and friends.”
