A defensive midfielder is high on Mourinho's wish list this season with Eric Dier being reported as his prime target. But with Dier set to stay put with the North London side, Tottenham, Mourinho has shifted his focus to his former player – Chelsea's Nemanja Matic.
Manager Antonio Conte is looking for an upgrade on Matic this summer with the likes of Tiemoue Bakayako and Marco Verratti being linked with the Blues. This may make the deal go through smoothly as Manchester United are ready to offer £25 million for Matic according to the Manchester Evening News.
Billionaire attempts Arsenal takeover
