Liverpool defender has told Danish television station TV 3 Sport that he will be leaving Liverpool if he does not get enough playing time as he is there to play football and not warm the bench.
The player has failed to appear in the last four Premier League matches for the Reds and has now expressed his frustration at being left out of the team.
He said, “First of all, if I don’t play. If the manager doesn’t think I’m good enough, that could make me leave Liverpool.
“I’m here to play football, nothing else. So if I don’t play football, then I don’t want to be here anymore.”
The Danish had earlier warded off a bid from Barcelona and had said that he was happy at his club. He had tweeted asking people to stop linking him with other teams. He said, “Please stop all the tweets about me leaving! I’m not going anywhere! Will be back in the team soon.”
He had lost his place due to an injury and manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Martin Skrtel suits the current line-up better than Agger.
