English striker Danny Welbeck is apparently to make a move away from Old Trafford, in order to seek more playing time. Danny Welbeck has shown his frustrations with the lack of playing time at the club, and wants to be playing in more games, than now and being played in a different position than his natural place at the club. And is rumoured that he does not want to play under the new era of Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal.
Welbeck speaking regarding his future says, “I’d like to play centrally,” “I’ve been playing on the left for a while and it’s got to the time when I want to stake a place up front.”
With Danny Welbeck showing clearly his frustrations and being outplayed at Manchester United, shows his intentions of him leaving the club look more serious than assumed. With Manchester United overloaded in the No.10 and No.11 position, someone has to sacrifice their natural place or leave the club and seek a club which assures them of playing in their natural place.
When Danny Welbeck was asked directly about him still staying at the club he replied, “I’d rather not answer that question.” “Yes,” he said, “it does get frustrating. You want to play in a certain position and you’re not getting the opportunity to do that. It’s the same for everyone else when they are being played out of position and they don’t really like it.” “It depends what formation we are playing. On the left of a four-man midfield there are a lot more defensive duties so you can’t find the time to keep attacking. But if you’re on the left of a 4-3-3, I find that position really good. I can play in any formation but, if I play on the left, I’d rather play there if there are three in midfield.” “I played there for United over the Christmas period and scored a few then. I just want opportunities.”
Danny Welbeck has scored 10 goals this season for Manchester United in all competitions, with Van Gaal coming in it is clear he would like to play van Persie and Rooney as their main center forwards, and Mata, Kagawa and Chicharito as no.10’s and 11’s. With young striker James Wilson also expected to get in few opportunities under the Dutch coach in the coming season.
It looks like Danny Welbeck’s days at Manchester United are up and he is seeking a new challenge at a different club, the question that will be risen after his departure is that will he turn out to be like Daniel Sturridge and make Manchester United pay the price just like Chelsea did it with Sturridge? Though majority of the fans will be happy to see Danny Welbeck depart from the red half of Manchester, but Danny Welbeck has always risen on various occasions and helped the club win games. It will be a sad sight to see such a young striker depart from this huge club.
