Darren Bent will try to silence his critics at a new club

Aston Villa forward Darren Bent is very likely to move to Fulham. Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway was eager to sign Bent, but it now seems that Fulham have won the race. Holloway admitted that he was ‘gazumped’ by Fulham at the last minute, indicating that Fulham’s higher spending capability did the trick for them.

“Fulham could wait a lot longer than we could so we’ve tried to force it, they’ve stepped in, took our deal. I was told last night he was coming to us. I was told this morning he was coming to us. It’s life. There are bigger sharks than us. My chairman’s going to have to get used to that,” Holloway was quoted by the BBC as saying.

Bent is reportedly undergoing medical tests at Fulham before officially signing the contract.
