Manchester United legend and former England international, David Beckham has exhibited appeasement following the dream start made by the 18-year-old Red Devils striker, Marcus Rashford. The teenage sensation not only scored the decisive goal against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday but is also off to a flying start by finding the back of the net five times in the eight matches that he has already played.
David Beckham, on the other hand, started his professional career at Old Trafford back in 1992 and featured in 265 league matches for Manchester United, scoring a total of 62 goals. The 40-year-old former England captain had recently posted a picture of Marcus Rashford celebrating his goal against Manchester City on his Instagram account.
The captain of the image read, “When a young kid that loves the club he is at and loves the game he is playing this is what you get... The excitement in Marcus's face after scoring against our rivals is exactly what a kid his age should look like... It's refreshing and pleasing to see... Congrats to Marcus on another great day.”
Marcus Rashford's goal sealed the deal for the Red Devils during the weekend as they are currently positioned at the number six spot on the Barclays Premier League table after 30 matches, just a point short of their rivals Manchester City. Louis van Gaal's men have had a forgettable season this year.
However, a lot of Manchester United aficionados still believe that their team can finish in the much coveted top four spot at the end of the 38th matchday.
Juan Mata is reportedly also pleased with the 18-year-old striker
Marcus Rashford's Manchester United teammate and Spain international, Juan Mata is also reportedly quite pleased with the way the 18-year-old prodigy has handled himself at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
On his popular blog called One Hour Behind, the Spaniard wrote, “Marcus showed again that he is a great player in the making. We all believe in him, although we must remember that he's still very young and he's just arrived in the first team.”
