Former England talisman David Beckham has come out in support of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane insisting the Frenchman is the perfect person for the job. The ex- Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain player also went on to give his opinion on varied topics from his thoughts on president Florentino Perez to his choice between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Beckham was also asked whether he would ever be interested in coaching like his former team-mate to which he replied, "No, I was not born to coach. But 'Zizou' was.”
Speaking to Spanish magazine XL Semanal, the 41-year-old continued, “As well as being a great friend, he's also the most passionate man about football and Real Madrid that I've ever met. It's natural that he ended up managing there.”
Real Madrid lost out to Barcelona by just one point in the La Liga title race as the Blaugrana went on to clinch their sixth title in eight years. However, Los Merengues are still in contention to win the Champions League final, due to be contested on May 28th against city rivals Atletico Madrid at the San Siro in Milan.
When asked about how big a task it is to defeat dominant clubs like Barcelona, Beckham said, “He has a difficult job, because in the past five years Real are up against the best Barça in history. It's a monster, a team well built and thought through, with youth players that rise through la Masia and with Messi, you know, he's from another planet.”

Madrid of course, face a trophyless campaign if they go on to lose the Champions League final but Beckham insisted that the ten-time winners need to be patient and give Zidane more time.
“Stability is the key, it's just the base for all things in life and business. Madrid needs stability and continuity.
“It'd be good for Zidane to carry on for a while there and keep the players he has now. Even if they don't win the Champions League they should give him a chance and let him work,” he said.
Madrid president Florentino Perez though is known for his lack of patience. Beckham went on to elaborate that whatever the president does, it is for the good of the club. He went on to give the examples of the signings of world class players like Ronaldo and Bale for the club to succeed.
Finally, when asked who he would choose between Messi and Ronaldo Beckham said, "That debate doesn't make much sense to me. They're both unique, a bit like Zidane in his day, once in a generation players, we'll remember having Messi and Cristiano together!”
It remains to be seen whether Perez shares the same opinion of Zidane as Beckham. The England international represented Madrid 155 times from 2003 to 2007, winning one La Liga and one Spanish Supercup.
