Icon to teeming millions around the world, football superstar David Beckham has revealed his new-found love for cooking and how he took a six-month long course to learn to prepare the perfect Milanese risotto and saffron.
Beckham, who retired last season after winning the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain, said he was now fully focussed on being a good father to his children and cooking. Regarding his cooking, the ex-Manchester United winger said that he has been trying to make the perfect risotto but said that it was quite difficult because it required him to “add a lot of ingredients and constantly stir”.
Beckham, who joined Real Madrid from Manchester United for 40m Euros, admitted to feeling a “pang of regret” when he watches a game of football on the telly but felt he was adjusting to the new life pretty well, with most of his energy being spent on his children.
The Beckhams are currently residing in London after staying Los Angeles between 2007 and 2012 while he was playing for LA Galaxy.
