Manchester United boss David Moyes has stated that things will only get better at the club after guiding his team to a 1-0 victory against arch-rivals Liverpool. BBC Sport reports.

The 50-year-old took the reigns of United from fellow Scot Sir Alex Ferguson this year and had undergone a trying time during the start of the Premier League.

Moyes who’s team now face Norwich in the fourth round said: “It’s not frustrating. I will sort it.

“I will fix it. I will turn it round. I have no doubt about that.”

The former Everton manager had seen his side lose 1-0 to arch rivals Liverpool at the start of the season and succumb to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of cross-town rivals Manchester City but has tasted victory in five out of eight matches in all competitions – a record that was held by the great Matt Busby in 1946.

“Everybody seems to be picking a stat out – I have not won here or I have not done that,” former Everton boss Moyes said. “That is one of the good stats.

“I have not had that many good ones. But that is one of the better ones.

“It was a big game for us. We had lost at Anfield a few weeks ago and at the Etihad on Sunday and we wanted to put that right.”

Mexican forward Javier Hernandez scored the only goal of the match against Liverpool and his team now face West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday in the Premier League.

“Every game is either a first for something or it is a monkey off my back. It is going to be the way, isn’t it?” said Moyes.

“Liverpool have started the season well, so to get a result was good.”
