Wayne Rooney may be involved from the start in Monday’s Premier League clash against potential suitors Chelsea, revealed Manchester United boss David Moyes.
Last weekend in the first match of the season against Swansea, Rooney completed the last 30 minutes of the game, providing assists for Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck.
The 27-year-old had shaken off the hamstring and shoulder injuries which prevented him from taking part in United’s pre-season campaign and is set to feature against the club, who saw their two bids for the player rejected already.
“Wayne has recovered and has a good chance of starting,” Moyes told reporters, according to Sky Sports.
It would be an interesting decision on Moyes’s part as his counterpart Jose Mourinho has already stated he will make a third offer for Rooney some time next week.
Meanwhile, this big clash early in the season will allow both teams to assess where they stand in their quest to win the league.
