David Moyes has spoken out asking Manchester United fans to trust him over the choice to loan out £15million winger Wilfried Zaha to Cardiff City until the end of the season.
Since joining up with the squad in the summer, after signing, then immediately loaned back to Crystal Palace in January 2013, the young England winger has struggled to get into the first team, with rumours of struggling to keep up with the pace in first-team training sessions at Carrington.
United manager David Moyes feels that the loan move was the right time for both player and club.
Moyes said:
“It is good for him, it is good for his development. Everybody will have a chance to see how he plays
“The idea is he shows what he can do and comes back a better player for Manchester United.”
Wilfried Zaha impressed on his first outing for Cardiff City, coming on as a substitute and gaining two assists in the process
Moyes continued, stating that fans have to believe in what he is seeing both on and off the pitch, again pointing out the the loan move was the best option.
He added:
”At times you have to believe what the manager is seeing as well.
“There is big competition for those wide areas.
“When I came in, I had Antonio Valencia, Nani and Ashley Young. Then we had the emergence of Adnan. Shinji can play off one of the sides.
“I have seen Wilfried training every day as well. I am privy to that.”
Wilfried Zaha will stay at Cardiff City until the end of the season, we will be following his progress.
