David Moyes: Wilfried Zaha won’t leave Manchester United

Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has been told he can leave the club on loan, but only if the club’s injury problems subside.

It was reported that Zaha stormed out of a meeting with David Moyes after being told he can’t leave on loan this month, but reports now suggest that he could leave the club if United’s injury problems improve.

The 21-year-old was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing at the club and cost £15 million but has only made five appearances under Moyes.

Zaha arrived at United with a big reputation and plenty of hype after making his England debut under Roy Hodgson, but he’s failed to make an impact at Old Trafford.

Moyes dismissed rumours that Zaha stormed out of the training ground after their meeting.

“I had a 30 seconds chat on the training pitch today and we were talking away. So there was nothing like that,” he said.

“Wilfried Zaha has a chance. I have told him that if I can’t get him the games I will put him out on loan.

“But he can’t go out while we have Ashley Young and Nani injured and I would be surprised if anyone thought was a possibility.”

But Moyes added that he would be open to a move if United’s injury situation clears.

“That is what I have indicated to the boy,” he added. “But he is a Manchester United player, that’s what he is.”
