Manchester United boss David Moyes has admitted that he is worried by the state of the pitch at Hong Kong.
The Red Devils are scheduled to face Kitchee FC on Monday, on a pitch which was described as “killer pitch” by Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio.
Speaking after United’s 2-2 draw with Cerezo Osaka, Moyes said: “I do have concerns about the surface. It is mainly due to the weather.”
“We will travel to Hong Kong and hope the conditions improve and the pitch is in a better state than it has been in recently.”
Moyes also confirmed that Shinji Kagawa won’t be travelling to Hong Kong, as he had ended his holiday early in order to feature in both pre-season matches in his home country.
“We have given him more holiday because of his football with Japan in the summer,” said Moyes.
“We try to give all the players four weeks’ holiday if possible.”
