Manchester City’s playmaker David Silva has been ruled out of action for almost a month after suffering a calf injury in Tuesday’s Champions League game against CSKA Moscow.
Speaking about Silva’s latest injury, Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said: “His problem is his calf. I don’t know exactly how many weeks it will be, but maybe three or four weeks.”
City fans will be hopeful that the Spaniard will return to action in December when City face Bayern Munich and Arsenal in consecutive games.
The Citizens are away this weekend at Sunderland, who have had a dreaded start to the season. City have won only one away game out of five in the Premier League so far this term and will be looking to improve that record starting tomorrow.
