Robert Lewandowski
This list can never be complete without adding the former Borussia Dortmund and present Bayern Munich player Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish international has once again been on the money for Bayern this season despite the poor start for the Bavarians. This season has also seen Robert Lewandowski became the highest goal scoring non-German in the league this season after surpassing the record held by 40-year old Claudio Pizarro of Werder Bremen.
Robert Lewandowski has made 26 appearances in the league so far and has been directly involved in 26 goals for Bayern this season. The Polish international is the top scorer in the league with 19 goals and has a further 7 assists to his name.
Lewandowski also averages an impressive 4.3 shots and 1.5 key passes per match.
Notable Mentions
Manuel Neuer
The German captain is by far having his worst season in this league since joining Bayern Munich. The starting of the season saw Neuer making many uncharacteristic mistakes but since the last Der Klassiker, the World Cup winner has picked up his performance and has started showing why the German is considered one of the greatest ever goalkeepers to play the game.
James Rodriguez
As mentioned before it was either Gnabry or Rodriguez. Even though Rodriguez has made less number of appearances than the German, the Columbian has failed to show consistency to his match this season.
Like Gnabry, Rodriguez has scored 7 goals and made 3 assists this season but in just 18 appearances.
Paco Alcacer
It is rare that you see a striker scoring 16 goals in a season and occupying the second spot in the league's top scorer for the season but still failing to make it into to the combined XI.
The Spanish forward who joined Dortmund from Barcelona this season has been a revelation at the German side. The 25-year-old became the leading goal scorer in the league in a season while coming off the substitution bench with most his goals coming after coming on as a substitute.
The Spaniard has made 21 appearances but has only 9 starts to his name. What is more interesting is the fact that the 16 goals for Paco have come from just 964 minutes.
