All the outrage amounted to nothing, eventually. Paddy Power just tweeted saying they were playing a prank on everyone and that they did not really cut down trees in the Amazon rainforest.

Paddy Power tweeted this from the official Twitter account; but is it real?[/caption] Irish bookmakers Paddy Power seemed to have gone a step too far after the above picture of a chopped down Amazon rainforest went viral on the internet. Paddy Power are said to have carved out the words “C’mon England PP” into the Amazon rainforest to promote themselves for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Hundreds of trees have been felled and experts believe that the images are a 100% genuine. Austin Brady, head of conservation for the Woodland Trust said: “The authenticity of these photographs and the location where they were taken is unclear at this stage, but we would never condone cutting down trees for a PR stunt.”
