The Spanish forward Diego Costa was at it again for Chelsea in their first pre-season game against Rapid Viena. Costa, well known for his fierce nature and fiery temperament has got into well-documented altercations in the past. Last night was no different for Costa.

Thirteen minutes into the game, while jostling for the ball with Srdjan Grahovac of Rapid Viena, Costa was seemingly ruffled by the player and reacted in his trademark style. He pulled Grahovac’s jersey and then confronted the player trying to stir up a fight.

He wasn’t done there he then chased the referee and confronted him hurling abuses in Spanish. It will certainly worry Conte going into the season that his main striker has such an affinity for fights and causing controversy. Diego Costa has got away with worse in the Premier league but it is about time that his manager speaks to him and tries to calm him down.

Conte being a disciplinarian will certainly have a look at this behavior and aim to correct it. How Diego Costa goes scot-free after all his antics remains a mystery but it is up to Conte to change the Spaniard and make him control his behavior while playing. But for Diego Costa, some things never change.
