Uruguayan defender Diego Godin rejoined the group training of Atletico Madrid on Thursday, although he does not yet have medical permission, as the capital football club is preparing for Saturday's La Liga clash against Real Betis.
Godin, who sustained an injury on March 15 during the Champions League pre-quarterfinal against PSV Eindhoven, performed stretching and running workouts. But he is still awaiting the go-ahead so that he can appear in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona on Tuesday.
Montenegrin Stefan Savic, who recently recovered from his injury, did not participate in the training session due to pain in his foot but he worked out in the gym.
Belgian Yannick Carrasco also did not participate in the group workouts, while both injured Uruguayan Jose Gimenez and Portuguese Tiago Mendes continued their recovery plan.
Brazilian Filipe Luis and French Antoine Griezmann returned to Thursday's training under Argentine head coach Diego Simeone.
However, Simeone is awaiting the return of Argentine internationals Angel Correa, Augusto Matias Fernandez and Matias Kranevitter, who will arrive in the coming hours to train on Thursday night.
Atletico, who are in the second place in the La Liga table, will continue on Friday the preparations for Saturday's La Liga clash against Real Betis.
