Diego Maradona proclaims he is the greatest player of all time

With his latest comments, the controversial Diego Maradona has re-ignited the never ending debate on greatest player of all time. For starters, his latest comments are trying to highlight the failures of Lionel Messi which are few and far in between, while his rivalry with Pele is well documented over decades. Renowed football pundit Ben Hayward tweeted the following:

But it seems Maradona has stepped a bit far in his latest rant by suggesting he is the greatest player ever. We are not even for a minute starting the debate on who is the greatest player of all time; having said that onus is on Messi to prove his compatriot wrong in the upcoming El Clasico and second leg of Champions League tie against AC Milan.

Maradona: “I think I’m the best player ever. Messi is great, but he didn’t see the ball against AC Milan. Pelé? He just says stupid things.”
