Manchester United frontman Dimitar Berbatov is close to completing a move to Russian Premier League club Zenit Saint Petersburg.
The Bulgarian born player was brought to Manchester United for a record fee of £30 million from Tottenham Hotspur in September 2008 and has scored 48 goals in 108 league appearances for The Reds.
Dimitar Berbatov managed just twelve English Premier League outings for Manchester United last campaign due to the increased competition for first team places at the Old Trafford club. And even though the previous Bulgaria international has been playing well in pre-season matches, the trigger happy marksman is still a fringe player at Manchester United.
Sir Alex Ferguson: “Berbatov obviously wants to leave, but I am easy about it. If he stays, I will be happy. If somebody comes in for him, we will assess it.”
