Reports have linked Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov with a shock move back to Tottenham Hotspur. The striker has been linked with Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal for some time now before Arsene Wenger denied interest in him only yesterday. An exit from the relegation threatened Fulham looks eminent for the Bulgarian.
Tottenham who have their own problems in front of goal, despite the 26 million pound acquisition of Roberto Soldado in the summer are now considering bringing back their former star striker to ease the team’s striking vows.
With Defoe set to leave White Hart Lane this month, the 32-year-old will be a decent addition to their side. Berbatov had 2 successful seasons at Spurs between 2006 and 2008 before Manchester United came calling for the signature of the Bulgarian.
Berbatov who moved to Fulham for £5 million last summer, is said to be available for just around £2 million. Such a small price tag certainly makes him one of the bargains of this window.
