Borussia Dortmund have categorically stated that they will not sell their star striker Robert Lewandowski to Bundesliga rivals, Bayern Munich.
The German daily Bild quoted Dortmund CEO, Aki Watzke who stated “Robert Lewandowski will definitely not make the switch to FC Bayern in 2013. That’s final. We have informed Robert and his agents now.”
The 2012 Bundesliga champions are weary of sending off another one of their mainstays to the Allianz Arena despite the fact that they may lose out on 25-30 million Euros in transfer fees and have informed Lewandowski’s agent Cezary Kucharski of their intentions to ensure the Pole does not go to Bayern.
Dortmund manager, Michael Zorc confirmed the news to the local Dortmund Daily Ruhr Nachrichten.
He told the paper – “We have informed the player and his agent that we will object to a switch to FC Bayern this summer. He has always been very professional so far. He has a flawless character”
