Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has said that United holds the upper hand over Manchester City in the upcoming derby. The Red Devils are scheduled to face their city rivals later this week and Yorke thinks that as Old Trafford is the venue, it will boost both the moral and performance of the Manchester United players.
“With the game being played at Old Trafford, I just feel United have the edge over City” – he said to Sky Sports.
Both the Manchester teams will be missing some key players for the derby. Manchester City will be missing Sergio Aguero while their red wearing counterparts will be missing the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Antonio Valencia.
“It's very difficult to call this game at this moment in time but I feel Sergio Aguero's suspension will be a big blow for City, although they still have plenty of quality players to come in there.”
The 172nd derby between the two clubs will see Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho – arguably two of the best managers in the world in the dugouts. Both with a long history, will be vying to win the match and gain the upper hand early in the season.
“Manchester United are turning around and winning games they would have lost last season. Jose has brought the winning mentality back to United”, said Dwight when asked about the new Manchester United manager.
"Arguably the world's two best managers go head-to-head and they will want to win this game, it is very important for them going forward for the remainder of the campaign" he continued.

"We know Pep is an outstanding manager, we know he's been a winner wherever he's been and he seems to have implemented that in his squad at City”, he added.
He also believes that the winner of this weekend’s Manchester derby will gain an upper hand from the psychological point of view. “It will be huge for the winner".
Whatever the outcome, Yorke thinks it is still too early for the result to manipulate the trophy race for these two. He also feels that both halves of the city are excited about the match and looking forward to it.
“Neither club will win the Premier League from this point because it's simply too early. Everyone is buzzing in and around the city and the world is watching to see who is going to come out on top."
Old Trafford will re-unit these two managers for the 17th time this Saturday.
