EA Sports revealed that FIFA 14 will feature an ultimate team mode where legendary footballers will grace various teams.
Players like Pelé, Patrick Vieira, Freddie Ljungberg, Ruud Gullit and Gary Lineker will all be playable, and will have their own unique look, attributes, and custom biography.
The ultimate team mode will be included in Gold Packs in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team on Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles only.
Fans will be able to mix their Ultimate Teams with a mixture of stars from yesteryear with today’s top players.
The likes of Pelé, who played for Brazil and is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time, will be made available through the Gold Packs and through the Transfer Market, and can then be selected by players in special tournaments that are designed to showcase the skills and flair that made each of the players legendary.
Xbox and EA SPORTS Senior Vice President and Group General Manager Matt Bilbey said: “We’re thrilled to bring legendary footballers to FIFA 14 Ultimate Team on Xbox. Only on Xbox will you be able to terrorise defences with a dream partnership of Messi with the legendary Pelé.”
The Legends will be available at various stages of the season but only for a limited period.
FIFA 14 is set for release on Android, iOS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Wii, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One on September 24 in North America and September 26 in Europe.
