Ecuador and Venezuela kick off their 2024 Copa America campaign when they square off at Levi's Stadium on Saturday. Both sides have been drawn in Group B, alongside Jamaica and Mexico.
Off the back of a solid run in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Ecuador will journey to the United States aiming to secure a podium finish. La Tri have never finished higher than fourth in Copa America history, with their most recent outing ending in the quarter-finals in 2021.
While Ecuador will look to get their campaign off with a bang, they will have to show their mettle against Venezuela, who are unbeaten in 19 of their last 36 meetings. However, Venezuela have failed to win their last five matches across all competitions, a run they will be desperate to end this weekend.
La Vinotinto will draw inspiration from the fact that they are unbeaten in each of their last five competitive matches, claiming two wins and three draws since September 2023.
Venezuela’s fine run in the World Cup qualifiers has also shown that they can punch above their weight and they will look to stun La Tri at Levi's Stadium.

Ecuador are unbeaten in eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions, claiming six wins and two draws since September 2023. Venezuela head into the group opener on a five-game winless run, stretching back to a 3-0 victory over Chile in October 2023.
Ecuador have named a solid 26-man squad, including the likes of Piero Hincapié, Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo and rising star Kendry Páez. Enner Valencia sits at the top of the nation's all-time scoring chart with 41 goals in 86 caps and the 34-year-old will be one to watch.
Salomón Rondón, who is Venezuela’s all-time leading scorer with 41 goals in 104 appearances, will spearhead their attack once again while skipper Tomás Rincón will look to earn a record-extending 133rd senior cap for La Vinotinto.
