#7 Tiemoue Bakayoko (AS Monaco)
Monaco have been the standout team this season. Playing some brilliant and attacking football, Monaco have earned rave reviews and admiring glances right throughout Europe. While their attacking prowess led by Mbappe, Falcao and Bernardo Silva has rightly received plenty of plaudits, the man instrumental for their style of play is defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Standing well over 6 foot, the towering defensive midfielder’s biggest strength is his ability to break up opposition play and put in some stunning last ditch tackles. With 49 interceptions and 88% passing rate, Bakayoko has been the standout defensive midfielder not only in Ligue 1 but in Europe.
Blessed with excellent reading of the game and positional awareness, Bakayoko could well be plying his trade in the Premier League next season (Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the 22-year-old).
