Eden Hazard says “I don’t want to leave the club” in response to Chelsea exit rumours

Hazard does not want to leave Chelsea this summer

Eden Hazard stated his intention to stay at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future, writes Goal.

Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Hazard has been widely publicised in recent weeks, with rumours of a “last ditch” £68 million bid from the Ligue 1 champions having surfaced on Friday.

However, the Belgian winger asserts that, notwithstanding the growing list of suitors clamouring for his signature, he harbours no desire to leave Chelsea.

The former Lille man clashed horns with Blues boss Jose Mourinho on occasion last season (most notably when Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid, with Mourinho lambasting the 23-year-old for his lacklustre work rate) but that doesn’t look set to drive him out of the club.

For now, Hazard is concentrating on performing at his peak during the World Cup for the Belgium national side, ahead of their opening fixture against Algeria.

“For the moment, I just want to focus on the World Cup. For the moment I have a contract with Chelsea and I don’t want to leave the club,” he told reporters.

“My aim is to give 100 per cent on the pitch and that’s it really.

“I’m looking forward to going to Brazil. We have one game left tomorrow (against Tunisia) and then we will take a two-day break and then it (the World Cup) will start.”

Hazard was one of the standout performers in the Premier League last season and was rightfully awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year award for his efforts.
