Belgium winger Eden Hazard has reported for training with his fellow Chelsea team mates after an extended break following the World Cup in Brazil where he was part of the Belgium side that reached the quarterfinals.
Hazard was accompanied by his Belgium compatriot Thibaut Courtois who will be fighting it out with club legend Petr Cech for the number 1 stopper’s spot. A fully rejuvenated Hazard’s arrival will boost the morale of the Chelsea squad which is already brimming with confidence after some impressive performances in the pre-season friendlies so far.
The 23 year old Belgian sounded a warning to his rivals by claiming that he wants to win trophies this season at Chelsea after failing to win a single title for the Blues last season. In that process, he also brushed aside rumours linking him to PSG.
"There are no transfer stories to tell. I stay at Chelsea. I feel good at his club and want to win titles. Last season we've won nothing. If I'd scored less and would give less assists and we win the title, I would be very happy. It's my goal to win titles", he said.
He also acknowledged the fact that he wasn’t upto his usual mark during the World cup and has vowed to improve himself in the Euros in 2016. "The criticism of my World Cup performances was justified, I tried my best, but it didn't turn out like I'd hoped. In the Euros, I will try to shine", he concluded.
He won the Chelsea player of the year award last season apart from winning the PFA’s young player of the season award. This season he would look to go one step ahead to fulfill Chelsea’s quest to win the Premier League title and the Blues on their part have handed over the number 10 jersey to him for the upcoming season.
