What's the story?

Former Barcelona star, Rivaldo, has claimed that Eden Hazard would be a perfect signing for Real Madrid and could be the key to turn Real Madrid's bad fortune around after the departure of their record scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

In case you didn't know...

With 13 goals and 11 assists in the league for Chelsea this season, Eden Hazard has proven himself to be an asset and is one of the best players in the Premier League right now.

With Belgium, Hazard has netted 3 goals in just two Euro Qualifier matches, which depicts that the forward is at the peak of his career. Hazard was also one of the best players in the 2018 World Cup.

The Belgian flaunted his desire to play for Real Madrid throughout the season but recently claimed that he is focused on his current club.

On the other hand, Rivaldo needs no introduction. He is a former Ballon d'Or winner during his tenure at Barcelona and was a pivotal part in the Brazil attack in the 2002 World Cup. Rivaldo was also the highest scorer in the Copa America winning campaign in 1999, scoring five goals in that tournament.

The heart of the matter

Rivaldo certainly likes the way Eden Hazard plays and claimed that that Premier League star would be more than just a player for Real Madrid if they secure his services.

In an interview with Betfair, the Brazilian said,

"Eden Hazard would be a perfect signing for Real Madrid, not only for his talents as a player, but also as a leader. He led the Belgian team at the World Cup and does the same currently at Chelsea."
"He already has the experience and know-how of taking responsibility on his own and could be an important piece in this transition phase the club is in after Ronaldo's departure."
"He, as well as other new players that be signed before the new season starts, could put Real Madrid back to winning ways in Europe and Spain, battling for titles with Barcelona and other big clubs."

What's next?

Chelsea will travel to play Cardiff City next in the Premier League.
