Manchester United
Sergio Romero - 7/10
Romero had a quiet evening, but he did well whenever called upon. The Argentine produced a brilliant save to deny Swansea a consolation deep into second-half stoppage time.
Victor Lindelof - 5/10
This was another nervy showing from Lindelof, whose hashed clearance allowed Andre Ayew a good chance in the first half. He is yet to convince in a United shirt.
Chris Smalling - 7/10
Smalling sat deeper than his two centre-back partners and read the game well. He was also strong in the air and handled McBurnie comfortably.
Axel Tuanzebe - 8/10
This was a confident display from Tuanzebe, who was excellent defensively, and also showed a willingness to step into midfield with the ball at his feet.
Matteo Darmian - 7/10
Darmian had a couple of shaky moments up against Ayew in the opening period, but he grew stronger as the game wore on. The Italian provided the assist for Lingard's second with an excellent cross.
Ander Herrera - 7/10
The deepest of United midfielders, Herrera showed discipline and diligence to deny Swansea space. He was quieter than usual, but Mourinho will have been pleased with the Spaniard's efforts.
Scott McTominay - 7/10
This was a mature showing from McTominay, whose assuredness belied his tender years. The youngster looked to push forward and join the attack whenever possible, but he did not neglect his defensive duties.
Daley Blind - 6/10
Blind was guilty of some suspect positioning at times, but Swansea were unable to punish the Dutchman. This was not his greatest showing, but Blind did use the ball reasonably well.
Jesse Lingard - 9/10
Lingard's brace won the game for United, with the England international taking advantage of a relatively free role behind Rashford and Martial. His two finishes were excellent and he played some nice passes too.
Marcus Rashford - 9/10
Rashford produced the moment of the match with his superb flicked assist for Lingard's first goal. He was an attacking threat all night and showed why he is such a talented player.
Anthony Martial - 8/10
Fielded up front alongside Rashford, Martial's movements towards the left flank caused problems for Swansea all night long. He showed some wonderful touches in possession and linked up well with Rashford and Lingard.
Substitutes:
Romelu Lukaku - 7/10
Lukaku did not have a chance to score after coming on, but he did the job asked of him; namely, holding the ball up and ensuring United did not give possession away easily.
Nemanja Matic - 7/10
Matic helped United control the game and maintain their two-goal lead in the second half. His safety-first passing was just what the visitors needed.
Luke Shaw - N/A
Shaw was introduced only in the 87th minute of the game and didn't have much to do thereafter.
