Andres Iniesta: Madrid fans might not want to remember but the last time these two giants of football faced off, Iniesta pulled out a man-of-the-match performance and was rewarded with a goal and a standing ovation from the majority of Los Blancos fans. His patience, passing and precision will be key for Barca – don't be surprised to see the 31-year-old prove the match winner again.
Sergio Busquets: Despite sitting out Spain's international break with a broken finger, Busquets should feature in El Clasico, having taken part in training. His football lacks the obvious aesthetic quality of some of his team-mates, but he does the necessary jobs very well and is a hugely important cog in the Barca machine.
Ivan Rakitic: Having overcome a calf injury, he took part in training during the week so he's added another boost for the Catalan club. This will be his 99th game for them and he'll also be looking to make it his 79th win. Since joining the club, he has scored 15 times which is more than any other player outside the 'MSN' trio and his creativity will again be hugely important. Will he nab a goal?
Lionel Messi: The decision to donate his boots to charity may well have sparked outrage among many Egyptians during the break, but you can bet his footwear will provide the opposite reaction for Barca fans this weekend. A conjurer of swashbuckling football, the Argentina international will be central to the headlines once more this weekend and should improve on his 22 league goals.
Neymar Jr: He just keeps on getting better and better, and he'll expect to be among the goals when Los Merengues come to town – just like he was the last time they met when he grabbed a goal and an assist. Arguably one of the best strikers in world football right now, the Brazil international has treated us all to some fabulous football this season and alongside his two partners in crime will be almost unstoppable.
Luis Suarez: A triumphant return to international duty with Uruguay saw 29-year-old Suarez by netting in their 2-2 draw with Brazil as well as nabbing an assist. He is a dynamic striker who can either turn a game in one's favour or work against his own team, but the way the maverick Barca man has been performing in recent months, images of him producing some acrobatic finishes are almost premonitory.
