Hit: Billy Gilmour (Scotland)
Winning the UEFA Champions League seems to have done a world of good for Chelsea and their players. Billy Gilmour, our second Blues star on the list, also impressed tonight in what was only his first start for Scotland.
He was almost everywhere, making excellent recoveries and timing his tackles to perfection while also distributing the ball accurately. Gilmour's maturity on the pitch thoroughly belied his age, as he approached the game with tremendous confidence.
A player earmarked for success? You bet!
Flop: Phil Foden (England)
He wasn't poor in the game by any means but Phil Foden hasn't really lit up Euro 2020 like he was touted to. The Manchester City starlet's talents were there for all to see in bits and parts, but he was uncharacteristically sloppy on the night and didn't threaten too much in front of goal.
It's also true that the hosts failed to get the ball to him. However, whenever he was in possession, Foden was either boxed up by Scottish players or simply ran out of ideas. The one key pass he completed was his standout moment, as he was withdrawn in favor of Jack Grealish in the second half.
Hit: Reece James (England)
Another rising star of a young England side, Reece James appears to have made the right-back spot his own. He was unplayable down the right flank and made a telling impact at both ends of the pitch.
His immaculate passing range came to the fore, with the Chelsea star boasting a pass completion rate of 99% while also creating two chances for his teammates. On the defensive front, he made a match-saving clearance off the line to deny Lyndon Dykes.
