England name Luke Shaw and Raheem Sterling in squad to face Denmark

Luke Shaw gets his first international call-up

England manager Roy Hodgson has announced the England squad to face Denmark for the friendly to be held at Wembley on the 5th of March.

Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling makes the cut ahead of Sunderland winger Adam Johnson, while Southampton youngster Luke Shaw replaces Kieran Gibbs. Phil Jones, Phil Jagielka and Kieran Gibbs have been excluded due to injury, while Ben Foster makes the cut. Gareth Barry of Everton is also missing from the squad, even after impressing for the Toffees.

This is the first international call-up for Luke Shaw, after a series of excellent performances at left-back for Southampton.
