Attack
Raheem Sterling
Sterling, then 18 years of age, made his England debut in this match. He was substituted in the 85th minute for Wilfried Zaha.
Following his phenomenal performances for Liverpool, he earned a big-money move to Manchester City, where he is a key player now.
Sterling is just one of four players who featured in that game against Sweden to be part of this year's English World Cup squad. The Manchester City attacker has made 41 appearances for England at just 23 years of age.
Ashley Young
The Manchester United player made his England debut in 2007 against Austria, but hasn't been a constant figure in the English set-up, and was a surprise call-up to the squad for the 2018 World Cup. He has made the left full-back position his own in the English team.
But in the game against Sweden in 2012, he played further forward, in attack. He was substituted in the 61st minute for Daniel Sturridge. Young has made 37 appearances for the national team.
Danny Welbeck
The Arsenal forward's selection for the English national team was even more surprising than Young's selection as Welbeck hasn't featured heavily for his club side, Arsenal, due to injuries and poor form.
In the game against Sweden in 2012, Welbeck was still a part of Manchester United before making a switch to rivals Arsenal in the 2014 transfer window.
Welbeck has made 40 appearances for England, scoring 16 goals.
