Story of the match: Setting the tone…
Luis Suarez was on top form yet again and Brendan Rodgers can, finally, see the light at the end of the tunnel. As for Palace, a lot of work needs to be done if they want to stay in the Premier League.
The match that started with a bang, ends with a puff. Liverpool were amazing in the first half, but in the second, they were just happy containing the Palace team. They did not need to take any risks, and that’s exactly what they did. Final scoreline: 3-1.

62′- The match has slowed down beyond recognition. This is not the match we were witnessing in the first half. Absolutely nothing to report.
56′- Crystal Palace have seen a lot of ball in this half, but have not been able to do anything with it as Liverpool still look deadly on the other side of the pitch. 52′- Crystal Palace has been able to mount some kind of attack, but it has not resulted in any rewards. Yet. 51′- Second half has been a drab affair till now. Not many chances as the teams are sitting back. SECOND HALF begins SUB: Dwight Gayle on for Jimmy Kebe and Campana on for Jerome Story of the half: Foot on the gas… Brendan Rodgers will be a satisfied man at half-time but Ian Holloway has an unenviable job of rallying his troops to put up a fight in the second half. Liverpool are on a roll. It is 3-0 at the half time, with Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard finding the back of the goal for the Reds. Crystal Palace can only hope for damage control, that too, if Liverpool allow them to. Sizzling performance from the Reds in the first half. Way to go… FIRST HALF ends 46′- SAVE! Calmly slots it in the corner of the goal, while the keeper dived on the other. 37′- PENALTY! Raheem Sterling is brought down in the box after his shirt was pulled. Gerrard on the spot. 33′- Liverpool knock at Palace’s door yet again as Suarez and Sturridge create magic before Suarez is brought down in the box. No penalty.
30′- CLOSE! Sakho almost put the ball in the back of his own net. Panic in Liverpool defense.
26′- CLOSE! Jimmy Kebe was one on one with the keeper but was unable to score, and he shot the rebound way above the bar.
22′- Liverpool are in firm control of the match. Crystal Palace are barely getting the ball. And when they do have the ball, they are unable to do much with it.
