Jose Mourinho seems to be confident enough to place his trust on his team and that fact was highlighted once again yesterday. Eager to break the deadlock, he bought on Rashford for the ineffective Lingard; took off Darmian and introduced Mata, pushed Rojo to left back and shifted Michael Carrick to the centre of defence. The move paid off, as Mata handed the Devils the lead.
It is not easy to manage your squad effectively during the festive season and pocket points as well, but the Portuguese has done just that. With 9 points from 3 games, United are well and truly back in the race for the top 4 and this may just be a sign of better things to come still.
