Thibaut Courtois started his career with the Belgian club, Genk in 2009 before moving to Chelsea in 2011. The shot-stopper returned to the Stamford Bridge after a successful three-year stint with the Spanish club, Atletico Madrid. Courtois made 32 Premier League appearances for the Blues in the 2014-15 season upon his return to the Stamford Bridge. He made 74 saves and kept 12 clean sheets during the title-winning season.

Chelsea won their fourth Premier League title that season under Jose Mourinho with Courtois playing a major role under the bars. After Petr Cech's move to Arsenal in 2015, Courtois who looked promising established himself as Chelsea's number 1 with his exceptional skills. He won the Golden Glove in the victorious 2016-17 season with 16 clean sheets and 68 saves in 36 league appearances for Chelsea. It was Chelsea's fifth Premier League title and it came under Antonio Conte.

A brilliant display for Belgium in the 2018 FIFA World Cup has widened the speculations of his move from Chelsea. If reports are to believed, then Courtois might once again head to Madrid, but this time for the Los Blancos. Real Madrid have have made their intentions of signing Courtois clear on many occasions and if the deal goes ahead, Keylor Navas might most likely be replaced by Thibaut Courtois this summer. With Chelsea replacing Conte with Sarri, Courtois might well be making his way to Madrid.
