Liverpool rejected chance to sign Marcos Llorente
The agent and uncle of Marcos Llorente, Julio Llorente made a claim that Liverpool were among the clubs he contacted once Zinedine Zidane let Llorente know that he was not needed at Madrid.
Liverpool, however, rejected the opportunity to sign him because their midfield is already stacked. In the end, the Spaniard was sold to city rivals Atletico Madrid and Julio hopes that he does well at his new home.
"I contacted several clubs to let them know what had happened, the conversation that Zidane and Marcos had. One of which was Liverpool, but Marcos’ position was covered and it was not a priority, but Atlético is the one that took the strongest step and convinced us. I think we have done the right thing, I hope it's like that, I hope Marcos does very well," he explained.
