The Estadio Pedro Bidegain is a soccer stadium located in Bajo Flores, Buenos Aires in Argentina. The stadium is often called as the El Nuevo Gasometro which literally means “The New Gasometro”.
The Old Gasometro is referred to the viejo Gasometro which had been the home ground of the San Lorenzo since 1907. The Estadio Pedro Bidegain is the home ground of the Atletico San Lorenzo Football Club.
History
The Estadio Pedro Bidegain was inaugurated in December, 1993 and the first match to be held on this ground was between San Lorenzo and Universitas Catolica in which the San Lorenzo won by 2-1.
Major Matches
The stadium hosted the first match of the San Lorenzo club in the Argentine Primera Division 2017-18 against Racing Club, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
It also hosted the quarterfinals of the 2017 Copa Libertadores tournament in which San Lorenzo defeated Lanus 2-0.
Recent Matches
The last match to be held at the Estadio Pedro Bidegain was the Superliga tournament match between San Lorenzo and Atletico Tucuman on December 1, 2017. The match was won by San Lorenzo by a score of 2-0.
