4) John O’Shea

The former Manchester United man will be vital for the Irish defence against a very strong Italian attack. The Republic of Ireland captain will look to lead from the front, and put up an inspiring performance against the Azzurri’s to guide his team to the knockout stages.
However, his work will not be easy as he will come up against pacey Italian forwards like Insigne and El Shaarawy. Along with Clark at the heart of the Irish defence, O’Shea will have to put up a good performance, and prevent the Italians from scoring. The Sunderland man has a lot of experience playing at the highest level of English football for decades now, which will be vital in this high-pressure match for the Irish.
